Doctoral Candidate (2019)

I am a PhD Candidate in Sociology at the University of Chicago, Lecturer at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Sociology at Rice University. I’m currently conducting an ethnographic study of the energy industry in transition in Houston and the Gulf Coast. I also serve as book review editor for the American Journal of Sociology. In addition to my written scholarly work, I am completing my first feature-length documentary film, Laurentian, a visual ethnography of communities tied together by the changing fisheries ecosystem of the Great Lakes.
