My academic interests include gender/sexuality, urban studies, and health and medicine. I’ve enjoyed working with healthcare professionals, academics, and community members to address the needs of the LGBTQ community. I am concerned with questions around access to healthcare for LGBTQ individuals. In particular, I want to address care for aging transgender and gender nonbinary urban populations. Stemming from my earlier work in American history, built environment, and policy activism, my attention is drawn to work that combines both theoretical and applied realms. My recent work has examined the impact of the built environment on clinical care for transgender populations in urban healthcare settings.
