M. Aaron Hammonds is a graduate student whose interests include war and conflict, the development of political institutions in post-conflict societies, and the social organization of the armed forces. Primarily, he examines these issues as they manifest in the United States, but looks to expand his analysis into cross-national contexts.

His current research examines the reintegration of American veterans into civilian society following their service in Iraq and Afghanistsan, and the differences in value structures between military and non-military populations.
